Problem with installing Fixpak 1 for websphere application server v 5.1

Hi all,
I am trying to install a DB2Content Manager, for which i need to install IBM Websphere Application server v 5.1 along with fixpacks 1 and cumulative fixpacks. While installing the fixpack 1 (was51_fp1_win for a quite long time there is no response and the
re is no progress after 3per cent...
I've installed DB2 udbv8.2 with no fixpacks...
what could be the trouble. Should fixpak 8 for DB2 installed prior to the installation of ibm was?...

Any help is appreciated...
