OmniFind 8.3 - ESSearchServer not working

| Hi,
i've installed OmniFind 8.3 (including DB2,webshpere 6.02, HTTP server 6.02, IBM WebSphere Information Integrator Content Edition 8.3 and WSIIIC)
i'm trying to run a tutorial scenario (written by Thomas Hampp & Alexander Lang).
when i try to run the Serach on the collection i created i get the following messages:
FFQC4013E The search process for collection OFSD could not be started. Ensure that the HTTP server is running properly (on port 80) and that the ESSearchServer application is running in WebSphere Application Server.
FFQQ0136E A communication error occurred when attempting to POST to the servlet at host portal2.clearforest.com and port 80. HTTP error code: 500. HTTP error message: Internal Server Error
can anyone assist?
