Obviously, future WebSphere Application Server releases will implement Java EE 5 platform. What implementation of EJB 3.0 Persistance will be? Some vendors already know what implementation they will be use. For example, JBoss will use Hibernate, Oracle -
TopLink, for GlassFish project and commercial version of app server from Sun, Oracle contibuted part of source code of TopLink and Bea will use JPA implementaion named Kodo. Will own implementation of EJB 3.0 Persistance be used for WebSphere or may be so
me third-party implementation?

Information related to WAS and implementation of JavaEE5 has not been
announced yet.
