Author max value for a heap size

2006-08-26, 1:30 am

Hi all,

I'd like to know what is maximun value for a heap size? BTW, if there a max value for a heap, I guess it possible to set a minumum size.

My system operating is RHEL3.0U6, jdk 1.4.2 (SR5) and WAS 5.1.1.11.

2 Xeon 3.2Ghz and 3GB RAM.

TIA.

Well, obviously it would need to be less than 3GB. But the only way to
know what you need is to performance test your system and see at what
level you start to become memory constrained ...
