OK this has been a strugle but its now working

Firstly get all the fixpacks from --->
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...tf-8&lang=en+en

Also ensure that the schema is a current with a supported level of Domino. I was dealing with a Domino server that was upgraded from 5.3 and the Administration server had not been running LDAP and without that the schema was still old.
See the 'tell ldap reload schema' help in the Domino Administrator for more details.

If you do it on a nice clean Domino install works first time every time
