Solaris 8 and WPS 5.0 install

| I am installing WAS/WPS 5.0 on a Solaris 8 box. Do I need to install the product as root ? Do I need to run it as root too ? I will not get "root" privileges to this box. What are my options to get the product installed/configured

I've not verified this but I believe the portal has to be installed as
root
