| Hi, can anyone point me at a redbook etc that shows how to install the
portal 5 dev environment on Linux? I have WSAD5 installed fine and the only
instructions I can find are for Win2000
thanks, JJ

I believe the dev environment is Windows only (I may be wrong, someone
can correct me if I am)

| thanks. Out of interest, which component doesn't work on Linux? WSAD works
fine as does portal, so I assume it's the toolkit?

| My uneducated guess is that it is a testing/support statement, but I
have not tried the Toolkit on Linux.

Looks like others have confirmed this. I'm planning on installing
Portal on a Linux box to use as a development environment, obviously
without WSAD. My primary box is a PowerMac G5 and WSAD won't run there,
either, obviously. :-)
I did discover that the installer won't even run on RH9; it dumps core
with no indication that anything went wrong to the user (other than not
ever appearing on-screen...). I've got an RHAS2.1 box that I intend to
use, but the stupid installer wants like a gig in /tmp, so I've got some
more work to do.
Has anyone done development on a "real" instance of Portal? Can you
turn on auto-reloading of classes and .wars?
