Author Portal Toolkit 502 Java Install error

I'm trying to install the new PortalToolkit 502 on WSAD 5.1, and get:

A suitable JVM could not be found... please use option -is:javahome
<JAVA HOME DIR>

So, I try:

portaltoolkit502 -is:javahome C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\Application Developer\v5.1\_jvm\jre\bin

and get the same message. What's the problem? I've even tried using the
WAS Jre in C:\WebSphere\AppServer\java, but can't get past this point.

Anyone know the problem?

Is this supported to use with 5.1? How about WSAD 5.1.1? I've been out
of the loop with vacation and all. I didn't think there would be
support until toolkit 5.1 came out since there are trying to stay in
sync with WAS/WSAD release numbers.

Maybe the toolkit requires JDK1.3 whereas WSAD 5.1 uses 1.4 I believe.
You may have to grab an appropriate JRE from IBM to use the toolkit.
I'd verify with the release notes.

HTH,
Lou

I installed it on 5.1.1 and had no problems...

As it turns out, it looks to be supported at least for 5.1.0. See:

Thanks for the replies. It must have been something with the initial
install. I re-installed 5.1 WSAD, then the 5.02 Portal Tookit, and the
Tookit install then found the JVM!

Just curious, what did you do about updating the WAS 5 test env? Did
you apply all those PTFs per the install?

Yes, I applied the PTF's, per the instructions, and it worked fine. I have
a WPS 5 Test Environment defined in my WSAD 5.1.1 environment.

It actually works by itself, but, when I add a simple portlet to the wps
test environment within WSAD (using the toolkit wizard), it always hangs in
"starting" status, so, I'm still not completely there, but, it's working
okay stand alone. Still researching...
