Notes for installing Portaltoolkit
I have found some questions about how to install Portal Toolkit 5.0.2
successfully, especially WebSphere Portal V5.0 for Test Environment .And
I installed it yesterday. So write this article to share the experience
with you

software requirements:
WebSphere Studio V5.1
Portal Toolkit V5.0.2
WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Interim fixes
WebSphere Portal V5.0.0 and WebSphere Portal V5.0.2 Fix Pack 1

Step one, check whether the destination folder name has ". (dot)" or "$"
character.
If yes,Uninstall Portal Toolkit and WebSphere Studio, reboot the
machine, and reinstall them using a short folder name such as
"c:\wssdwork" which does not contain these characters.
I think it will not the problem for you to install WebSphere Studio V5.1

Step two, Install WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Interim fixes.

Download WAS502Windows.zip from
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...s=utf-8&lang=en(point
the url :WAS 5.0.2 Fixes)

after executing the command updateWizard.bat in the
WAS502Windows.zip,please attention:
1.Select Specify product information, specify
"<c:/wsad>\runtimes\base_v5" as the Installation directory
2.check all the interim fixes except PQ77008, PQ78370,
WAS_Plugin_09-03-2003_5.0.X_cumulative

ok...

Step three,Install Portal Toolkit5.0.2,please atttention
1.check Portal Toolkit5.0.2 and Websphere Portal V5.0 Test Environment
(Now there are no problem for you have installed the fixes)
2.Insert the WebSphere Portal 5.0 CD #2 in the CD-ROM drive.b. Enter the
location of the WebSphere Portal V5.0 installer.

3.Launch WebSphere Studio.

then it will be ok.

Step four, install WebSphere Portal V5.0.0 and WebSphere Portal V5.0.2
Fix Pack 1
announce:I have problems when doing this step
Download Fixpack2.zip from the url the same as WAS502Windows.zip

unzip Fixpack2.zip to D:\wsad51\PortalToolkit(D:\wsad51 is the location
installing wsad5.1)
and execute the command:updatePortalTestEnv502.bat
PortalUpdateInstaller.jar WP_PTF_502.jar

And then maybe you will account the problem below:
