What does "wpsconfig enable-security-ldap" actually do?

Here's a guess on my part:

It verifies the configuration of WP with regards to the installed
"objects", i.e. if you've enable Domino LDAP, etc, in
wpconfig.properties...

then just enables global security in the WebSphere Application Server -
Global Security Area, doesn't it?
