Multiple default pages?
|

| We have a requirement that when a user logs in to our portal, that their welcome page be unique to their 'group' (e.g., sales sees a different default page than marketing). Each welcome page would display different portlets. I have not been able to find
any documentation regarding how to make this happen. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Mark

| Mark,
what you can try to do is this:
Each group needs to have permissions to one specific page, but not to
the other pages.
For example: Assume you have following pages under the "My portal"
place:
GroupSalesPage, GroupMarketingPage, GroupResearchPage.
The sales group only has access to the GroupSalesPage, but not to the
other pages.
The marketing group only has access to the GroupMarketingPage, but not
to the other pages.
And, of course, the sales group only has access to GroupSalesPage.
Now, if you put the three pages as first pages under "My portal" via the
manage pages portlet, each group should see their page after login.
However, there is one exception: If one of the users selects an
anonymous page before login, and they are allowed to see this anonymous
page when they logged in, then they will get to the page they accessed
anonymously.
So you have to make sure that no page available for anonymous users is
available for authenticated users.
