Author WPS and multiple Web Servers?

Is it possible to have two different instances of say the IBM HTTP Server
pointing to a single instance of WPS? For example, myhost.com:80 and
myhost.com:90 both routing requests to the same WPS instance...

I know how to setup the plugin-cfg.xml for the Web servers to make this
happen but it looks like WPS keeps some WpsConfig properties that specify a
single URL/port combination. I assume this is use when generating portlet
URLs etc? Or is portal smart enough to generate URLs based on what path it
came on originally?

Thanks.

I'm not sure this can work since the portal uses the name and port
specified in ConfigService.properties
