Dynacache and Struts Portlets

Has anyone used Dynacache with Struts Portlets???? I was reading some of the articles on IBM's site and they all talk about overriding methods from the Portlet API but those aren't available from within a Struts Portlet (I'm only coding action classes no
t extending the wpsstrutsportlet)....
