| Hello,
I am trying to install WS Portal Express Plus on Windows XP Professional. Just after the agreement statement, I have the "checking for required OS and software prerequisites" that fails.
I get the following message :
"OS prerequisite check Failed. refer to the message log file C:\DOC~\JSMITH\LOCALS~1\Temp\installmess
ages.txt for additional information"
I looked for the stated file and it seems that there is no such file on the whole C Drive :-/
What is going wrong ? is WinXP not supported or what?
When I carry on the installation regardless of that, i get asked for the WS Portal Express CD just before ending the installation. Hence, I cannot finish the Install process.
So, What's the point ???
Thanks in advance,
EpicTetus.

| Well, I finally found installmessages.txt in a hidden directory. Here is what it states :
------------------------------------------------------------
Discovery get_disc_OS_installed_version
EJPC1517I The Discovered specific Operating System type and version is winxp(5.0,1.0,0.0,0.0,1.0)
Discovery get_disc_ODCLibs_installed_is_current
EJPC1515I Discovery processing located all required libraries needed by the Productivity Components.
Discovery get_disc_OS_installed_is_current
EJPC1503W The installed Operating System level is not supported.
com.ibm.wps.install.PortalValidationAction checkPrereqs
EJPI0007E Operating System prerequisite check failed.
------------------------------------------------------------
Seem like there is an allegy to winXP, Isnt'it ?
what should i do to get WS Portal Express to work ?
Install it on a Win2000 machine or what ?
(And i still can't figure out why am I asked to insert the WS Portal CD !? )

| Per InfoCenter Windows XP is not in the list of supported operating
systems. Probably this is why you cannot install portalon Windows XP.

It is not. Check the list of supported operating systems at:
