hello,

I have a question: is it possible to access from a portlet to some static html content outside the web content folder.

I would show some help html files in a portlet. these html files are generated by another persons, so I could'nt put these files in the web content, but outside. also would there be the problem, if I update/uninstall the portlet application, the static html content would be deleted. has anybody an idea ?

thanks for your help!

greets

Sure, why not - you can easily serve the data out from IHS or totally
different content management system

There are multiple options. One is to generate URLs to help content
via the skin itself - so replace the help URL with whatever URL you
want to.

Another way is to - implement the doHelp method and display the
appropriate content

You could also have the help content updated on the file sytem in
batch mode and read the html out of it to be displayed.
