I am trying to install Lotus workplace.
As part of it, I have installed websphere application server 5.0.2 and websphere portal server 5.0.2.

After installation, I have started WAS. When I start websphere portal server and open it in browser, I get the message "eror:503 Failed to load target servlet [config]".

Any idea why this is happening.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ravi,

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago when i tried to start portal.
Looking at
the logs i found that the problem was related to my database ( DB2 in this
case ).

I know that this can happens at least in these situations:
- If you change your DB2 logs from circular to lineal and you don't do a
full DB Backup
( DB2 wont let you use your databases until you had done that backup )
- If you haven't done a full backup of your db's for many time DB2 (
8.1 ) will stop and
will ask you for it

I hope this can help you

Bye !!

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the response.
I have made sure that full DB backup is taken after changing from circular to linear.
Pl see the following lines from the log while creating databases.
config.backup:

config.incremental:
[exec] update db cfg for LWPCOM using logretain recovery
[exec] DB20000I The UPDATE DATABASE CONFIGURATION command completed successfully.

[exec] update db cfg for LWPCOM using trackmod on
[exec] DB20000I The UPDATE DATABASE CONFIGURATION command completed successfully.

[exec] BACKUP DATABASE LWPCOM TO 'D:\db2backups'

[exec] Backup successful. The timestamp for this backup image is : 20040714155043

[echo] Database configured for incremental backups with roll forward

If you find any error in the above.Pl let me know.

Regards

Ravi
