Where do you configure the start page for the portal? What i need is
to configure a page that all users can access and get basic view
capability of the portlets. Administrators will access a login screen
first and get a view of the portal that can be edited. How can i
configure this?

Also, can i have some intermediate permission level that lets users
only add pages to particular area? Say under the MyPortal area?

I posted this earlier. Please search the forum before posting questions.

The screen the user sees is the first screen that the group
"anonymous portal user" All you have to do is create a page with the
Portlet/Content that you want to first user to see before starting the
login authentication process. Make sure that the "anonymous portal
user" has at least user permissions to all pages and portlets that you
want them to see in the public area. Bydefault I believe Welcome under
My Portal is viewable by these users. You can overwrite that page, or
add your own page before My Portal.
