Hi all,

Is there a way to define portal pages and URL mappings to them in the war
file for the portlet web application. So far the only way I've found to
define these things is in the Administration user interface, but in our
case, that will put too big a burden on the portal administrators. What
would be ideal would be to have that stuff defined in the web.xml or
portlet.xml or similar file and have all that stuff set up automatically
when the application is deployed. Is this possible.? We are using websphere
portal 5.0.

Thanks,
Dan

Create a XMLAccess import file containing the installation of your
WAR-file and the pages you want to create (with URL mappings).

The administrator would have to do following steps:
1. Copy WAR-file to <WP_HOME>/installableApps
2. Import XMLAccess import file using XMLAccess ....

This is not to much to do for an Administrator if it is documented.

Using the web.xml file is not possible. Just think about, that not
everybody wants to have a portlet on a specific page the developer
wants to have.
