WebSphere Portal Server - WPS and PDM on AIX

I have installed Portal 5.1 on AIX and had a number of problems. My PDM doesn't work at all. The viewer says can't connect to content repository and the administration says Can't set environment settings. Also on installation, I had to perform a -console
installation. Finally, my wpsconfig.sh continually complains about not finding classes. In particular, it can't find wps.config.jar, but if I edit this into the shell script it just goes from missing jar to missing jar.

Has anyone else faced these problems ?
