I would like to know how can i create a new role.
I searched into all document of wps 5.1 on ibm site, but i haven't found anything.

| Are you planning to create a new role in addition to existing roles in WPS?
Can you elaborate little bit more? what version? what role you like to create?

| I have to implement an intranet portal, so i would create a differet profile corresponding to any company's staff role.
Each staff role would have access to a different set of page, some of them would be accessible by anyone (like mail portlet).
These profiles would be mapped to different roles in wps, is this correct? or i have to create groups of users.
I'm currently using wps 5.1.0.1 on windows 2003 with users on db (cloudscape in test).

| there is a diffrent between the concept of roles and groups.What you want to do is to create diffrent user-groups and assign each group a role.There are 7 diffrent roles defined in Websphere Portal like admin,security admin,delegator,editor,user,privelidg
ed user etc...
YOU CANT ADD ANY MORE ROLES OTHER THAN THIS.
what you can do is to assign permision to the portlets/pages on group basis or assign permission to pages/portlets based on 7 roles and then assign the people/groups to the correct roles.
