start server with credential authentication?

| Is there a way, I can enforce the wps to validate the credentials before starting the server?
It is very frustrating that if i config the portal wrong, I can start the server with wrong credentials but can not shut is down?
What am I missing?

| You can enable security for starting the server through WAS. Try reading the
InfoCenter for that topic. I don't recall the exact steps.
