I have solved the problem over the week-end. The problems seems to be, that the PortletResponse Class is loaded by 2 different class loaders and casting doesn't seem to work there. I used Java refelection to acces the method I needed from the portlet resp
onse and now everything is working fine.

I'll try to get the portletResponse from the page context as it is nicer as using the Java reflection mechanism.
