How can i get the user id in a JSR168 Portlet ? I tried using
"request.getUserPrincipal().getName()", where request --> RenderRequest. Any help is appreciated.

Do a search in the forum about getting Portal User information in a JSR 168 portlet ? There are number of threads about this. Also may I ask why do you need a Java Principal Object inside your portlet.

I need to get Java Principal Object as i want to get the UID and configure the portlet accordingly.

You may want to look at this technote from IBM.http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...s=UTF-8&lang=en I think if you just need to get the logged in Portal User Name you should be using USER_INFO
attribute.. Hope this helps.
