Author -XX:NewSize Generic JVM Argument

2005-09-29, 6:01 pm

I am trying to tune the performance of our WPS application and using the "IBM WenSphere Portal Version 5.1 Tuning Guide" Version 2.0.

I tried setting the Generic JVM arguments (Servers > App servers > Websphere Portal > Process Definition > JVM) per this guide with the documented values of:
-XX:NewSize=200M and -XX:MaxNewSize=200M.

The WPS would not start after this change and I found the following error in the Native_sterr.log file:
The JVm option is invalid: -XXNewSize=200M.

All the documentation I find indicates that this is a valid parameter.

Any Ideas?

Thanks
Harry

Thank you for that information. Too bad none of the IBM documentation indicates that minor detail!
