Using JSF 1.1 on Portal 5.1.0.3

Hi,
as far as i know, WebSphere Portal 5.1.0.3 is using JSF 1.0
And I'm using RAD 6.0.1.1 to develop my JSF JSR-168 Portlet

It is possible to upgrade it to JSF 1.1
Has anyone had any experience upgrade your application for JSF 1.1
I'll be very grateful for any help
