porblems in implementing custom user registry in portal server

im using WebSphere Portal Express Version 5.1. now im trying to implement custom user registry (db2) in portal server.

i can't find any information about how to implement it in portal server, but only websphere application server. so, i followed what inforcenter said and successfully done in websphere application server.

what confused me is i can login websphere application server with username and password recorded in db2, but can not login portal server with any user in db2. is there any other configurations or operations i shall do? thanks!
