Is it possible to make just one portlet jsp page use SSL communication (https) while the other jsp pages of the portlets and other portlets on the portal page continue using "http" ?

Yes you can. because https is just used for secure login that is required at the time when credit card number is required and there is any third party authenticaion is involved for eg: If your are using verisign for payment authentication.
