WebSphere Portal V5.0 Welcome Page not loaded properly due to proxy settings

Team,
I installed WPS V5.0. When I invoke the welcome page URL(../wps/portal)with out using local proxy. Everything is loaded properly. If I invoke thro local proxy. My News, Whether....... are not displayed. It shows
"an error occured while retriving the data" in that porlets. Can anybody help me to solve this problem
