| Hi!
I was very happy when I heard about this during the weekend. Now I have tested it and I have the following problems.
1. I can not import a PORTAL project. I follow the steps in the help but RAD does not recognize my test environment. Creating a new will get me a new environment in the servers window but none in the import wizard.
2. I can't run a PORTAL project on the server. When I create a new PORTALproject I can not choose "run on server" since that option is not on the list (!). On my list of possible choices are:
Java Applet
Java Application
JUnit Test
Run...
Does anyone have the same problem or do you know a solution for this?
Thanks
Karin

Did you read the sections Importing portal sites and Defining servers
for publishing or importing portals in the rational help?
It says you need to define and select a WebSphere Portal for Import,
Export & Deploy server.

| Jim,
I just happened to find your reply to an earlier concern and I was wondering if you can be more especific on this topic.
I understand, WPS & RAD uses a different XML schema for portal configuration depending on the versions (5.x). I have a few questions of my own that it may be usefull to this community.
When developing an application, should the WPS version be determined at the time you start your development? Second, is the newer version of RAD 6.0.0.1 backward compatible?
What are the best practices for portal project migration once you've upgraded to RAD 6.0.0.1?
I for one, have been using RAD 6.0 and I'm now challenged to deployed an application that was created using Portal Test Server v5.0. to an integration portal server (WPS V5.1).
Will the URL http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...uid=swg24009346 give me everything I'll need to migrate my project from V5 to V5.1? And also import, export & deploy to V5.1?
Thanks in advance.
Robert

| Yeah, my test environment stopped publishing too when I added a "WebSphere Portal v5.1 for Import, Export & Deploy" server to RAD. However, I can still start the test environment "by hand" from the console but that's not very helpful...
