Author Strategy for migrating from an Intranet to a Portal

2006-07-02, 7:27 pm

Has anyone come accross any good documentation (e.g. a redbook) regarding strategies for migrating from an Intranet to a Portal. My client has a large Domino based intranet. It would be quite a large project to move all the content and functionality in on
e go. The redbook 'WebSphere Portal
Best Practices' says you should aim for a non complex first release with a narrrow set of requirements/goals. So unless you remove access from the old intranet which isn't going to be popular, you need a strategy for allowing the two to sit along side eac
h other. To make this as user friendly as possible, you ideally want a shared look and feel and integrated navigation.
Any thoughts/links appreciated...
