Author portal document manager : automatically upload reports?

2006-09-29, 7:59 pm

hi everyone,
we have portal 5.1 and want to use the document manager to store and distribute auto-generated daily reports in .xls format. our DB2 (running on iseries) creates the reports at a certain time every day, and ideally i'd like the portal document manager to
be able to automatically see the new reports and make them available to users via the document manager. has anyone ever tried doing this? my assumption is that i'd just need to see what db fields the document manager updates in the portal's internal db, a
nd then just have the iseries duplicate that, does that seem correct?

thanks!

javier.

The Content API the Portal document manager uses can be used to write portlets to handle this. Contact the contact person for this article:

for more information. The article covers 6.0 but the 5.1 API's can be accessed with appropriate paperwork.
