thanks for putting up with me.  i actually got it working already- seems the portal install was seeing/communicating with my DB2 8.2, instead of the bundled DB2 v9... i uninstalled that first and repeated the portal install, and it went smoothly then. i
only realized this after i ran db2level at the command prompt, and only the v8.2 was showing up even if i could successfully connect to the v9.0 using WAS admin console.<br />

weird thing, though: when i use the portal as test environment for RAD 7, i can't get even a simple portlet to show. Once i run the page on the server, i get the login screen, and after giving the credentials i get the portal Home page. No sign of my port
let anywhere. Any thoughts?
