Hi!

Is there a place in the portal-file-hierarchie (e.g. somwhere under /opt/IBM/WebSphere/PortalServer/...),
that is intended for a portlet to save its configuration-stuff?

At the moment, I have a portlet, where one can configure a url-connection. The setting is saved in a
file inside the deployed portlet-application. (For some reasons I can't use PortletPreferences)

If I (or the user) update the war-file of that portlet-application the settings would be overridden. I would prefer the situation, where the settings would be saved outside the portlet-application, so afer an update the settings would survive.

Is this an unusual setup? Is there besides the PortletPreferences a place, where the settings may be saved?

Regards, Herbert
