The backup procedure you described is the recommended procedure. Full file system backup and full database backup. Portal 5.1.x does not provide any backup utilities or scripts.<br />

The RedBook below is for Portal 5.0.x but it speaks about the backup procedure and that approach still applies to Portal 5.1.x<br />
