I received the same error. I decided to see where it stood, so I tried running firststeps on the application server that was created. That started fine, so I created an application server profile. That went ok. Started the server, and that went fine -
it was at 6.0.2.9. So, I tried to do another install of Portal, this time the "custom" (install Portal on existing WAS), and that went fine, it starts, and it works. Yes, very odd.
