What is the ideal RAD 7 development environment - Portal 6 apps?

The system requirements seemed to have increased with RAD 7 developing Portal 6 apps. What is an ideal Developer's environment? Include things such as hardware environment (RAM, processors, etc), OS, separate test environment needed, etc. I'm aiming hi
gh here, so give me a best case scenario - maybe the dream environment.
