Can I develop portlets for Websphere Portal 6.0 using JRE 5.0?
In default installation of Websphere Portal 6.0 we have J2RE 1.4.2 IBM Windows 32 build cn142ifx-20060209 (SR4-1).

Is there any way to change J2RE 1.4.2 with JRE 5.0? Maybe some updates for Websphere Portal?

No, you'll need to wait for a version of portal that supports JRE 5.0,
you cannot upgrade the JRE.
