I need to use and build a front end using portlet technology for a third party developed ejb.
can anyone help me with the strategy to take for this?
Currently we have tried one solution which is like-
The portlets use state pattern. We have added the service locator part of looking up the ejb in a helper class. There is no business delegate component sitting between the portlet structure and ejbs.
My problem here is when i'm trying to look up the ejb, i get some error! The cause is not known yet. We have added SOPs at all the points to check the flow of the portlet. The moment my state constructor is called which has a call to new delegateClass(),
the execution stops. Even SOP put before this call are not printed. The exception is caught and am printing the stack trace as well which also does not say much about the error. It says
javax.servlet.ServletException..
If I moved the code of delegate instance creation to the first setInitialState method then the war is not installed on the portal.
Any pointers for this highly appreciated.
