Login banner (and I am new)

| I am trying to adjust the log in display ion the Welcome banner.
Currently, once you authenticate, it shows the UID, e.g. "Welcome to the portal, 2112"
It needs to show either the first name or full name (giveName or familyName?), but you know something like "Welcome to the portal, Mike".
I found a "How to", and it looked like I needed to change the loginportlet.properties file, and change the value from {0} to {0} {1}. I have tried that, along with just {1}. I also made sure to restart the portal each time (the instruction I have said to.
..)
Any advice (and try not to laugh, I am on a learning curve)?

| Hi, Mike,
I think that properties file is specific to the login portlet and not to the banner (which is part of the theme.) Try looking in engine.properties:

Good luck,

| Thank you! I am not getting alerts on posts, so I did not get to reply faster.
Anyway, the technote I used was similar to the Infocenter page, and I did change the engine_en.properties file to {0} {1}, {1}, and even just tried {2} for the heck of it (even though I am not sure it maps to anything. The test param is pulling just as is
says it will, but it is as if the LDAP mapping or something is off. I still just get our employee ID, which may very well be mapped to the giveName for all I know.
I will keep at it, and let you know when I get it right.
Thanks again!

| OK, so maybe it is the same???

This seems to be something so simple, yet it might as well be quantum physics. I will go through the steps again, just to cross my t's and dot my i's, again.
