Author Trouble deploying Portal Project through RAD 7 on Portal Express

Hi Guys,

I am new to Websphere Portal Server and RAD, so some of my questions might be very trivial.

For the starter i was looking to download Websphere Portal Server 6.0. But couldnt find it. So eventually i downloaded Websphere Portal Express 6.0.

So if any of you guys have a download link for Portal Server 6.0, i would really appreciate, if you could share it.

Now while exploring the RAD 7.0 and Websphere Portal Express 6.0 Combination, i ran into trouble deploying the portal application(Portal Project) through RAD 7.

Below are some of the steps that i followed, let me know where am i going wrong,
1. Creates a server runtime, and gave appropriate paths to my Portal Express Server.
2. Created a Portal Project through RAD.
3. Created a Portlet Project through RAD and created a Sample Hello World JSR 168 Portlet.
4. Added this JSR 168 Portlet to the Portal Project.
5. Thats all to it, now i right clicked on the Portal Project and deployed it. But it gives a list of long exceptions, mostly Data source binding related and stopped.

After which, though the portal server starts, i am not able to view the default Portal page. I suppose the deploy corrupted the default portal page.

Couple of questions here,

1. Now when we create a Portal Project, i suppose it updates or changes the default portal ear(wps.ear), in the installedApplications directory. So is it the case that only one portal application can run on a portal server at a time.

2. Can i not have multiple portals applications running on the portal server, in addition to the default portal server. If yes, how would i go about it, so that i can have my custom portal application running without troubling the default portal applicaio
n.

Thanks in Advance.
Yuvi
