WebSphere Portal Server - Keep PortletSession Active

Hello,
We are using portal server 5.1.0.3. We try to give user a warning pop window when they login to portal site then keep idle for a period time which is over web container timeout setting. There is a re-active link on the window, so user can click this lin
k to keep session alive. This link is not to access portal page or action/render URL but to access a servlet in same web application. And I find it's nor work, portlet session still timeout. If I change the link to portal page URL or action/render URL, it
works fine. My question is why portlet session is timeout even to access servlet in the same web application? Please help me, thanks a lot !
