Author scan support with DB2 Content Manager

Hello,

I'm developing a portlet application. This application uses DB2 Content Manager for document management, the application stores documents in content manager using DB2 content manager api.

The question is if it is possible that my portlet application provides scan support to users. With a scanner the users could scan document and store them in content manager. How could I do this?
