Hello!

I'm having some serious trouble with getting the ndadmin client running
remotely against a Sun box. Every time I try to connect to the server, I
get a message saying "Error: unable to register gui with server.".

ndcontrol, however, works perfectly, which suggests that I got all the
basic stuff right.

The server side is running ND 4.0.2.0 on Solaris under Sun's JRE
1.3.1_02-b02.

On the client side, I've tried both ND 4.0.2.0 and 4.0.2.31 under both
NT 4.00.1381 and W2k 5.00.2195 SP 3. In both cases I used IBM's JRE
1.3.0 Service Release 13a (which is the only 1.3 JRE currently available
for download).

There's no firewall or anything like that between the client and the server.

There's an earlier thread referencing to this message, but it doesn't
have a solution. Any clue to what this error message really means, and
what I can do to fix it?

Christer,

If the 'ndcontrol host:<sun box>' commands work, then I can't think of
why the GUI wouldn't. It's just a GUI that runs ndcontrol for you. You
might want to open a PMR with IBM Support to figure this one out.

"ndcontrol host:<sun box>" works just fine.
