Author Edge Server and WebSEAL Lite : forwarding credentials to IIS

Hi everyone,

Here is my problem :

We have an IBM WebSphere Edge Server on which we installed Tivoli
Access Manager (TAM) Plug-in for Edge Server (also known as "WebSEAL
Lite"). We have to "junction" a backend server running IIS 5.0. The IIS
server runs an application (web site) using .NET authentication
component, but no COM objects. Basically, the IIS application specifies
"WebAuthentication=Windows".

We need to pass the authentication credentials entered at the Edge
Server authentication pop-up window, to the IIS Server. This way, the
IIS Server can use it to execute some piece of code and access data that
need user authentication/credential. The back-end server is protected by
the TAM Plug-in by the means of a junction (secured connection to the
backend server).

*** First question : Can this be done?
*** Second question : Anyone here ever done this?
*** Third question : How can this be done?

I know this problem could easily be resolved be using Tivoli Access
Manager Plug-in for Web Servers, the plug-in for IIS more precisely. But
right now, this is not an option.

Hope I was clear enough. If not, just let me know!

Thanks a lot!

Eric
