Hello,

If every external client is experiencing the same outage at the same
time for a multi-minute period, it sounds like the AIX Edge machine
might be having problems resolving or contacting the clientgateway.
Check the 'arp -a' output on the AIX machine during the working period
and the failing period and find out where the clientgateway is pointing
to... and whether that is correct or not. I'd guess that during the
failure period, the clientgateway ends up pointing to the wrong machine
and the SYN_ACK is not making it out to the client (thus connections are
stuck in SYN_RCVD). If the arp data is correct, then I would start an
iptrace on the cluster port on the AIX machine and find out what happens
when the SYN is sent by the client, does a SYN_ACK go out and where?
