Hi,

I am trying to set up Edge Server in a Primary Secondary Config in Windows.

Where do i find the interface address (en0/en1 etc) in windows.

My Ethernet is (2) in Windows Network and Dial Up COnnections so i concluded
that it must be en1

When i try to unconfigure interface address the GUI states that the Address
is not Valid!

I did use en1 when i aliased the CLuster IP to this network card.

Also, when i installed edge server on another machine and issued the Start
COnfiguration Wizard it doesn;t allow me to configure the localhost. I don't
see the host in the drop down list. Instead it points me to a ClusterIP
(www.test2.com in my case) as one of the possible choices?

Appreciate any clarifications and help.

Thanks,
Manglu

Manglu,

The representation of interfaces as enX or trX (etc, depending on the
network type) is a Unix based idea. Windows won't call them that;
however, when you run the aliasing commands through LB, LB translates
the en0/en1/etc to the matching Windows representation. If you only
have one Ethernet adapter then it will be en0. You can also, and this
is recommended, NOT include the explicit adapter ID (en0) in the
aliasing command. LB will then attempt to match the aliased IP to the
correct adapter for you -- that avoids some complications. The one case
where you would include the interface name is when aliasing to the
loopback (lo0).

I don't believe you need to alias the localhost IP anymore. That was
required for some configurations in earlier releases (advisors in WAN
setup was one), but I don't think it's needed in the current release.
