I am using Caching Proxy version 5.0.0.4. I am using it as a proxy server
only, I am not using caching.

Problem: When a client connects to a server via my proxy server he is able
to successfully download files that are smaller than 9 meg. If he tries to
download a file that is over 10 meg the transfer fails instantly, that is it
does not transfer 9.9 meg and then fail, it just fails right away. So it
does not appear to be a timeout problem.

I searched though the proxy conf file and I do not see any setting thats
would limit transfers based on file sizes. I also looked though the proxy
logs and I did not see anything there that was helpful. Is there a way to
turn proxy logging to verbose?

Does anyone know what could be wrong, am I missing something.

Thanks..........Paul

I finally found some info in the proxy logs during a fail, here it is:

From proxy.Jan132004.1 log:
xxx.xxx.80.224 - - [13/Jan/2004:16:53:32 +0500] "POST
/e4enet/rooms/II26.nsf/e4e_04007?OpenForm&ParentUNID=A465B147FD8322A285256BF
F005BEFD0&Seq=1 HTTP/1.1" 400 417

Fom error.Jan132004.1 log:
[13/Jan/2004:16:53:32 +0500] [OK-GATEWAY] [host: xxx.xxx.80.224] Proxy
Error: Host connected but unable to forward request
"https://xxx.xxx.10.10:443/e4enet/rooms/II26.nsf/e4e_04007?OpenForm&ParentUN
ID=A465B147FD8322A285256BFF005BEFD0&Seq=1", please retry, errno: 0

But this is still of no help to me. Files under 10 meg still work find, but
files onver 10 meg still fail. They do not fail instantly as I said before,
they fail after about 20k of transfer.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.........paul

I found the fix. All I had to do was set the LimitRequestBody directive to
20 M

Now our files over 10 meg in size transfer just fine.

Strange thing is, the LimitRequestBody directive was not anywhere in my conf
file, I had to put it there. Also, the LimitRequestBody directive is not
even listed in the latest CP admin guide at:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/web...dge/admingd.htm

Here's what the defaults are if not set:

# Default: LimitRequestBody 10 M
# LimitRequestFields 32
# LimitRequestFieldSize 4096 B
# Syntax: LimitRequestBody <size> <B | K | M>
