Author PHP pear modules for Debian

Hi,

in message

http://lists.debian.org/debian-deve...2/msg01713.html

started a thread about packaging php pear modules. I have a special
interest but absolutely know knowledge about php and thus I'm not
qualified to take over this job.

The situation is as follows: The medical practice management system
FreeMed needs some php pear modules. The author of FreeMed provides
some packages in a private repository which are available at

deb http://apt.freemedsoftware.com/debian woody fsf

These packages have several policy problems and need some work but as
I said I have never used php and thus I would like to leave this to
more expeienced developers. I would love if someone would step in here
and bring this stuff to reasonable packages which are uploadable to
the Debian mirror. If I understand Jeff right he would be willing
to take over maintainership and needs just sponsoring and a helping
hand in the initial step to get it uploaded.

Kind regards

Andreas.

PS: Jeff, I did not found an upstream URL in your packages. Could you
please comment on this.

That would be really great because it would speed up FreeMed packaging.

Kind regards

Andreas.

Try to find the link to the upstream source. ;-)
Jeff just used the debhelper templates in most cases. So also the package
descriptions are week. If I would be able to find the upstream source
I would think about building a multi-binary image from a single source
package (but this is just a wild guess after seeing this lot of small
source packages).

Kind regards and thanks for your offer to help

Andreas.

I do not like to sponsor this package myself because I have no idea about
PHP. Guessing from FreeB package which I just overworked lately (see
wnpp) I think Jeff would be happy if there would be some hints / patches
but staying the maintainer. Just ask him (in CC).

Thanks for your help

Andreas.
