Author Bug#257487: 'INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes' somet

Package: general
Severity: important

Sometimes after I logout (for example with ^D) from the console
instead of a new login prompt I get a message:

INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

(if I do this on console 6 for example) and nothing can be done with
this console during these 5 minutes. Sometimes after this 5 minutes I
get another copy of the message, and then another one and so on, so
it may take hours to get rid of this. Very annoying.

It has happened on at least two completely independently installed
machines (both latest unstable), and I know at least one other person
to whom this happens too.

This is happening since several months, well it was not happening last
year. I upgrade to latest unstable every week.
