| Hi,
I am supposed to be developing a snapshot driver for Linux for backing =
up
volumes. Is there an Open Source project or code base from where I can =
start
my development?

Manu.

I'd be tempted to help, but not with this stupid disclaimer attached
to your email. debian-devel is a PUBLIC MAILING LIST.

LVM has been used for this for YEARS. See lvcreate(8).
I reject your disclaimer and will do whatever I wish with your email. Any
further email you send to me (including mail sent to mailing lists which you
know I am subscribed to) constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Your sig should be limited to four lines regardless of whether it contains
stupid legal messages or not.

well, maybe you should stop flaming about that.
OK, the sig is pretty stupid in this context, but I think it's the MTA
of his company that adds automagically the sig, and well, he's not the
one responsible of its stupidity
(I know hundreds of big companies that have such disclaimers, and well,
there is no way to avoid them, so maybe we should be a little more open
minded here ...)

Sure, I'll stop flaming when they stop breaking the rules.

He is the one responsible for using that account to post to the mailing list.
Getting an account at one of the many webmail systems is quite easy.

I know hundreds of people who work for such companies and make other
arrangements for their mailing list use to avoid polluting public mailing
lists.
